Summary/General Description of Job:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) performs work in support of human resource professionals. It requires good working knowledge of personnel procedures, guides, and precedents. The role includes interviewing applicants, obtaining references, and recommending placement in a well-defined occupation. The TAS handles employee-sensitive materials with tact, discretion and articulation.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Plans and implements recruiting and staffing strategies with emphasis on developing a well-qualified and diverse candidate pool.
  • Efficiently and effectively fills vacancies.
  • Coordinates and processes all related tasks including sourcing applicants, securing applications, conducting interviews, selecting candidates, participating in job fairs/events, extending employment offers, verifying qualifications.
  • Generate and maintain requisition folders to company and regulation standards and compliance.
  • Coach and prep hiring managers and interviewers to ensure interviews are conducted professionally and within company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Fully utilizes the talent acquisition system and tracking log ensuring that information is updated timely, accurately and completely.
  • Obtain and maintain a full understanding of the contract roles and their importance in terms of job functions and needs to process the recruiting functions accordingly.
  • Develops and plans standard and creative recruiting initiatives to ensure that vacancies are filled timely and with quality candidates.
  • Develops a pipeline that is managed in real time to categorize and direct candidates to viable roles.
  • Review applications and resumes to identify key functions and transferrable skills.
  • Conduct prescreening to ensure that candidates meet mandatory qualifications.
  • Owns and executes the entire talent process including offer letters, new hire, security requirements, job descriptions, interview questions, personnel action notices, etc.
  • Develops job descriptions and questions along with managing databases.
  • Works closely with security and other staff members to support the new hire process.
  • Develops recommendations to improve/increase productivity and implements approved changes to administrative recruitment policies and procedures as well as applicant management systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations): Mandatory

  • Demonstrate experience and competency in direct full-cycle recruitment responsibilities as related to the essential duties and job functions.
  • Experience utilizing an electronic applicant tracking system.
  • Excellent organization, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
  • Work additional hours and schedules to source candidates as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and the Internet/Intranet.
  • Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
  • Ability to keep information confidential.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Preferred

  • Degree in Human Resources.
  • Experience recruiting in a DOD/security clearance environment.
