JOB TITLE: Application Support Analyst LOCATION: Corporate Office
DEPARTMENT: Patient Account Services JOB STATUS: Regular Full Time
REPORTS TO: Billing Management FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt
JOB PURPOSE: Position is responsible for maintenance and support of the billing system applications to minimize service disruption and simplify operations. Maintain tracking of providers/staff in appropriate applications. Provide daily/weekly/monthly billing department metrics to management and staff.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Identifies and resolves application software issues/problems to include answering staff questions, providing advice, troubleshooting and follow up to assist end users with their application software problems.
  • Support system enhancement to meet billing and practice management needs.
  • Analyzes customer requests and determines capability or need for additional programming.
  • Coordinates implementation of software releases including documentation ensuring application is updated and current with minimal impact on any department.
  • Tracks and reports recurring software problems.
  • Assists with the interfaces
  • Maintains billing application set up files
  • Point of contact for vendors related to billing software
  • Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Work with billing partners as they relate to demographic and provider data
Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Associate's degree, or equivalent work experience, in computer science, information technology, or related field required.
Experience:
  • Minimum two years of experience in application software support, preferably with medical claims billing and accounts receivable systems in health care industry.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge:
  • Extensive knowledge of medical billing/practice management software applications.
  • Knowledge of computer training principles and techniques.
Skills:
  • Effective interpersonal skills and training methods.
  • Experience researching software requirements.
Abilities:
  • Ability to clearly explain computer applications and programs in simple, user-friendly ways.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all employees at all levels of computer understanding.
  • Ability to be well organized and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
Equipment Operated:
  • Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work Environment:
  • Position in a well lighted office environment. Frequent contract with a variety of people. Occasional evening and weekend work.
Physical Requirements:
  • Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder. Some bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
Safety:
  • All employees are responsible for complying with safe and healthful work practices as outlined in CCFMG's Employee Safety and Injury and Illness Prevention Program and policies and procedures specific to their department needs.
