Position Overview: As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing construction projects from inception to completion: developing project plans and timelines, coordinating projects to ensure they are on time and within budget, and working with clients, vendors, and technicians. Additionally, this position has direct supervision providing day-day direction for the project management, electrical and mechanical teams. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of mechanical construction processes and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the project management team, providing guidance, direction, and support as needed.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of all projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget making adjustments to plans and schedules as necessary to keep the project on track.
  • Communicate regularly with senior management and stakeholders to provide updates on project status, budget, and timeline.
  • Provide Labor Projections and Monitor and Assist Labor Needs.
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors, ensuring that terms and conditions are favorable to the project.
  • Ensure Billings and Collections are done
  • Approve material and equipment purchases
  • Review sales proposals and estimates for accuracy and provide feedback and advice
  • Attend turnover meetings with the Sales and Engineering teams
  • Manage scheduling meetings and ensure schedules and budgets are maintained as outlined

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of mechanical construction experience
  • Building automation experience is a plus but not requried
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Project Manager capacity on projects from $1 to $2 million
  • 2 years’ experience in a Construction Manager position leading 2 or more project managers.
  • Highly proficient computer skills with MS Office (Outlook/Excel/Project/Word/Visio).
  • Knowledge of all industry standards, building codes and practices, construction law, guidelines and procedures. Construction terminology, documentation, contract documents, drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
