An ideal Enthusiast sets the tone for creating the “Positively Yours” culture at our hotel and is committed to delivering the lifestyle experiences our guests want. The beautiful new Canopy Jersey City Arts District is looking for an exceptional candidate as its new Sales Enthusiast / Sales Manager for Corporate Markets.As a Sales Enthusiast / Sales Manager, you are responsible for developing and fostering new corporate transient, group and catering business through pro-active direct sales, outside appointments, and tours for the hotel. Identifies areas of opportunity utilizing recommended tools and Hilton sales training resources to optimize sales team performance. Additionally, works with other hotel departments to identify skill development areas and properly deploy sales and marketing resources.Position Title: Sales ManagerReports To: Director of Sales and Marketing 
Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

Sales Manager/Corporate Markets
 
  1. Responsible for Corporate Transient, Group and Catering Sales for the hotel.
  2. Administers, negotiates, and oversees all solicitations and contract agreements in assigned corporate account under the direction of the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  3. Builds and strengthens relationships with new and existing clients to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  4. Provides timely responses to client inquiries and develops professional long-term business relationships. Proficient in CVENT, Delphi and Lanyon.
  5. Participates in brand sales missions, industry tradeshows, and on-site office visits to acquire new business and/or to close on business.
  6. Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., corporate contracts, accounts listings, negotiated details, VIP arrivals, contracts and customer correspondence). 
  7. Works closely with Revenue Manager to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotel.
  8. Develops strong relationships with on-property Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Engineering team members to ensure operational cohesiveness to achieve unified goals.
  9. Targets and develops key corporate accounts as assigned by the Director of Sales of Marketing to increase revenue and market share for the hotel. Including but not limited to administering rate negotiations during RFP Season.
  10. Provides support to the Conference Services & Events Manager as an operations liaison, maintains and administers SOPs to ensure successful execution of BT, Group and Catering bookings.
  11. Develops and maintains accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly BT account & Group reports for presentation to key stakeholders including but not limited to the DOSM, GM and Asset Management.
Prerequisites:
  • Proven success in a similar role and environment.
  • Conscientiousness and attention to detail.
  • Polished personal presentation with warm, confident and hospitable personality.
  • Mostly daytime office hours, however evening, weekend and holiday availability can be requested due to client related activities.
Education:4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.Experience:
  • Experience in sales with branded and/or independent hotels.
  • Proficiency utilizing MS Office suite, Salesforce Delphi fdc. and hotel CRM PMS
  • Comfort with digital and in-person solicitations/presentations.
Hilton experience preferred but not necessarily required.
