We are looking for a People Generalist to join our small and mighty team of one! This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our organization. You'll be at the heart of our team, managing various HR functions and initiatives to support our staff and foster a positive work environment. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to excellence on and off the field.
This role will report to the Vice President of People Culture.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
  • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and selection.
  • Coordinate and conduct onboarding activities for new hires, ensuring a seamless integration into the team.
Employee Relations:
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or grievances, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Implement strategies to promote employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
HR Administration:
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, contracts, and other documentation in HRIS.
  • Process benefits administration, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Performance Management:
  • Support performance appraisal processes, providing guidance to managers and employees on goal setting and performance feedback.
  • Monitor performance metrics and identify areas for improvement or development.
  • Assist in the implementation of performance improvement plans as necessary.
  • Manage data in the performance review system.
Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs within the organization and coordinate training programs to address skill gaps and enhance employee development.
  • Track training participation and evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
Compliance and Legal:
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with all HR practices and policies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Work closely with legal counsel as needed to address HR-related legal matters.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in HR roles, preferably in the sports industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Tech-savvy, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong emotional intelligence (EQ) and understanding of people.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Ability to navigate and manage change effectively.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Ability to work in the office three days per week and attend home games.

Compensation
In addition to the benefits above, this role has a pay range between $70k-$85k exempt.
