BLaST Intermediate Unit 17 is Hiring a Director of Educational Planning Near Williamsport, PA

SUMMARY

The Director of Educational Planning will coordinate and manage the dissemination of information to districts and Intermediate Unit Personnel. They will assist IU districts and help with the planning and implementation of Curriculum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordination of Intermediate Unit Curriculum Advisory Council.
  • Coordination and dissemination of information to the district superintendents in the areas of curriculum and instruction.
  • Coordination of Intermediate Unit Principals Cohort and Act 45 continuing education credits.
  • Manage and oversee the Statewide System of Support initiatives and fulfillment of scope of work for each school year.
  • Manage and oversee Student Assistance Program (SAP) regional coordinator for Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Sullivan, and Tioga counties.
  • Manage and oversee the design and coordination of professional learning opportunities for member districts and clients.
  • Coordinate and lead all career readiness and equitable pathway initiatives including expanding collaborative relationships with community, business, and industry partners.
  • Serve in Statewide System of Support Leadership capacity and Statewide Curriculum Council capacity.
  • Provide professional development and consultation on current and emerging education trends.
  • Manage and oversee processes of data analysis, including PDE data planning tools.
  • Supervision of curriculum alignment, revision, and development with school districts.
  • Assist with program evaluation and revision of school districts including teacher professional development and dissemination of information from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • School improvement planning including creating and critiquing district and building-level school improvement plans.
  • Oversee consultation and assistance with district strategic and comprehensive planning.
  • Design and develop solutions for administrative and/or organizational implementation based on current and emerging practices in organizational development.
  • Assist districts with creating standards-based, aligned, local assessment systems and using various data tools provided by the PA Department of Education as well as locally developed or purchased tools.
  • Knowledge of and dissemination of information to districts and Intermediate Unit personnel with relevant federal, state, and local policies and board rules and regulations.
  • Developing/Performing other special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree required; Doctorate preferred.
  • PA Certification in teaching; Supervisor of C & I K-12, or Educational Leadership/Administrative Certificate, and/or Superintendent Letter of Eligibility.
  • Requires knowledge of curriculum, curriculum mapping, and program services.
  • Requires a working knowledge of Pennsylvania Academic Standards, Keystone Exams, Statewide Systems of Assessment, and current PDE Initiatives and best practices.

JOB EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience at the K-12 level.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of administrative or related experience at the K-12 level.
  • Previous staff training experience.
  • Prior work in curriculum development, staff development, or other related experience.
  • Previous experience with project design and management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
