Job Description Job Description Senior Civil Estimator HPM Contracting is seeking a Senior Civil Estimator for our Denver office.The ideal candidate will be detail oriented with strong prioritization (multi-tasking), organization and communication skills. This person will be responsible for developing accurate and reliable estimates for multiple, simultaneous projects.Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:Understanding of CSI, Masterformat and UniformatProficiency in Microsoft OfficeBachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in the civil industry.Operations/field experience is a plusDemonstrable experience in roles of increasing responsibility in commercial construction estimatingFamiliarity with Building Connected, Agtek, and/or HCSS Estimating softwareStrong hard bid estimating skills and/or strong conceptual estimating skillsAbility to independently develop complete estimatesPrimary Job Functions:Developing and managing estimates on multiple, simultaneous projects from Concept to GMP or hard bidManage estimating teams in the development of accurate estimatesDevelop, communicate and manage expectations of estimating teamsBalance workload and assignments among estimators to meet deadlinesWork with clients and design teamsLead and participate in accurate quantity take-off and detailed estimatesDevelop a plan for satisfying small business goals when requiredCoordinate the completion of all client deliverables for estimates to insure consistencyCoordinate with operations teams to ensure estimates and assumptions meet project requirementsIdentify appropriate trade contractors and develop sub lists for budgets, bids and RFPsDevelop bid tabulations and indirect cost estimates/proposals for General Conditions/Requirements/Fees/Permits/etc. on negotiated and hard bid projectsProficient in all trade scope review and identifying high risk issues on projectsAbility to independently develop accurate detailed self-perform estimatesCollaboratively develop cost strategies to meet client budget needsMentoring and developing estimatorsSupport preconstruction efforts of multiple office locationsCharacteristics of the successful candidate:Will have a proven track record within the construction industrySelf-starter who works well under pressure with the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyThis role will require this individual to have an in-depth understanding and strong experience in estimating and preconstruction workThey must be self-motivated, accountable for their workAccurate, detailed and well-organizedCreative solution-orientated approachExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
