S3 is a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) which is an organization, owned by credit unions. We serve credit unions by supporting their operations and delivering world class service. We support the credit union members with their loans, deposits and other financial needs to achieve their goals.
The Bankruptcy Analyst will perform procedures relating to bankrupt accounts including processing incoming petitions, 341 notices, discharges, proof of claims, non-dischargeable debt review and estate closures in a shared service environment. The primary goal is to be responsible for a wide range of duties, involving Bankruptcy. Remains current with bankruptcy laws, their interpretation, and the applicable provisions, which best protect the interests of the credit union. TOP JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Daily maintenance/monitoring of bankrupt accounts to ensure correct statuses in all systems, depending on case status. Includes, but is not limited to, core banking system, collection system, case management system, and PACER.
  • Perform processes related to bankrupt accounts, including processing incoming petitions, 341 notices, discharges, proof of claims, motion for relief, non-dischargeable debt review and case closures/terminations.
  • Make recommendations to the credit union partners for bankruptcy strategies and dispositions.
  • Process trustee checks/payments, including return of overpayments to applicable trustee.
  • Daily record retention, including, but not limited to, uploading documents to core banking system, collection system, case management system, Pacer, attorney share files.
Other responsibilities and opportunities:
  • Assist members with alternate payment schedules.
  • Process payments from members via telephone.
  • Maintain compliance with investor regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal bankruptcy laws.
  • Assist the Technical Writer and/or Trainer in updating the Standard Operations Procedures (SOP’s) with any changes to processes.
  • Additional job-related projects and duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  • 3 years bankruptcy experience required.
  • Knowledge of investor (FHA loans/Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) guidelines, preferred.
  • Strong bankruptcy background and knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations Consumer and Mortgage portfolios, preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills required, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to carry our directions verbally and written.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on mandatory requirements and member service level agreements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- This position operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filling cabinets and fax machines.
