Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care in a clinic setting.
- Perform basic medical procedures such as taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and administering medications.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Follow proper protocols for infection control and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
-Maintains medical supplies inventory and performs preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating, including sterilization of medical instruments.
-Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical test; drug & alcohol screening, audiograms, EKG's, pulmonary function test, respirator fit test; and reporting patient history summary.
-Assist in injury care.
-Perform phlebotomy service and give injections.
-Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.
-Must have ability to take a 1 week on call on a rotating basis and provide services to surrounding OHC locations and on-site.
-Must have dependable transportation.
-Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
-Ability to maintain client and staff confidentiality.
-Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
-Excellent communication skills and bedside manner.
-Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical. May be required to pass a background check.
-Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and a team player.
-Must be able to work quickly and accurately and must be able to work independently.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant certification.
-2 years of working experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
-Excellent to have-- Bilingual Speaking (English and Spanish is a huge plus)
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures is a plus.
Physical Demands: Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds. Repetitive motion. Extensive use of computers, copy machines and keyboards. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Work is performed in a medical clinic setting and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances, and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials.
Mental Requirements: Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with employees and visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.
