As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Corporate Safety Manager to join our team.

Position Summary

The Corporate Safety Manager operates in a leadership role and is primarily responsible for advising and working with safety representatives, staff, management team and clients regarding safety management, MSHA/OSHA regulatory compliance, and all safety-related operational issues.  Is accountable for all safety related activities of the company (office, yard, shop, and job sites).

Basic Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead PVB’s safety initiatives across all project locations and work sites.
  • Provide strong safety leadership and direction, fostering a safety-first and continuous improvement culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage and provide leadership to a team of safety professionals, setting clear expectations, providing mentorship, and promoting professional development.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety strategy that aligns with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and improve safety standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring the protection of PVB’s employees and the environment.
  • Review, and update safety policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
  • Coordinate and help deliver safety training programs for employees ensuring they are well-informed and equipped to work safely and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead investigations into safety incidents and generate proper management notification and reports; Develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist with and respond to regulatory agency inspections, audits, citations, orders, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and permits, and liaise with regulatory agencies as required.
  • Conduct and require subordinates to conduct regular safety audits and inspections of project sites identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
  • Prepare and present safety reports and metrics to senior management, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to manage all required job safety records.
  • Oversee Workers Compensation claims management.
  • Attends operations meetings to brief the staff on safety successes/issues and to keep informed of the progress on jobsites.
  • Coordinate and manage quarterly safety incentive luncheons across all sites/locations per the Safety Incentive Plan.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum 5 years of mining and construction industry safety management experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must possess the knowledge and understanding of OSHA/MSHA industry regulations and standards.
  • Knowledge of State of Arizona Workers Compensation Rules & Regulations.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality required.
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word, PowerPoint & Excel)
  • Very strong management skills, solid attention to detail, and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple-tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • MSHA Instructor Part 48 (IS) card required.
