St. Johnland Nursing Center is Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing Near Kings Park, NY

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a professional and knowledgeable Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join the St. Johnland team! The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible and accountable for the functions, activities, and training of our Nursing Department staff. The ADON will assist our Director of Nursing with planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure our residents are receiving the highest level of care at all times. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assisting in developing, maintaining, and updating nursing department policies and procedures
  • Assist in developing, maintaining and updating job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel.
  • Assist in developing a master staffing plan and promote the maximum utilization of all nursing staff to achieve nursing department goals and objectives.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring nursing department budget.
  • Assure that a Comprehensive Care Plan is established for all residents and is updated as needed.
  • Monitor medication pass and treatments to assure they are completed in accordance with physicians’ orders and nursing department standards.
  • Interview, hire, counsel and discipline nursing staff.
  • Receive reports from charge nurses on shifts and work closely with them to insure maximum total care.

Pay: $115,000 - $120,000 / year

WHAT YOU NEED:
(Requirements/Qualifications)

  • Current NYS RN License in good standing
  • Bachelors of nursing degree (BSN)
  • 5 years’ experience in long term care / 3 years in supervisory capacity
  • CPR Certified
  • Nursing Home Infection Preventionist
  • Ability to multitask and work in team environment
