Project Angel Food is a world-renowned non-profit organization in Hollywood that cooks and delivers meals to people who are seriously ill. We were founded in 1989 in the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and since then we have delivered more than 17 million meals to 30,000 clients, throughout Los Angeles County. Our meals are always free to our clients, made possible by generous individual and corporate donors, by grants from government agencies and private foundations – and by partnerships from healthcare organizations. The Community Supports Program Coordinator Job

The role of Community Supports Program Coordinator is a new position that will focus on our Community Supports partnerships under Medi-Cal. Over the last two years, Project Angel Food has been a leader in this area.

You will need to master the requirements of submitting or processing referrals, obtaining authorizations, providing services to eligible members. and then creating reporting and helping resolve claims matters. You will build relationships with the teams from the plans, be fluent in their technology, and support our mutual goals.

Responsibilities

· Under the supervision of the Assistant Managers for Community Supports, all aspects of the successful implementation and administration of Community Supports partnerships, including outreach, enrollment, reporting, and invoicing.

· Helping people in need – identifying potential clients, enlisting qualified clients, and day-to-day addressing questions and problem-solving; all the while, keeping grounded in compassion and hospitality, putting clients first, and going above-and-beyond to be of service.

· Partnering with and responding to staff from our partners to flawlessly fulfill the terms and conditions of the contracts and service.

· Collaborating with internal staff from peer departments such as Nutrition Services, Dispatch (Delivery), Institutional Giving, and Finance.

· Being detail-oriented, organized and disciplined to make sure that Project Angel Food abides by all requirements of our agreements.

· For much of your work, you’ll be a self-starter and be entrusted to take initiative. But as part of the Client Services department, you’ll also be expected to be a team-player and pitch in as necessary on our daily work and on projects as assigned to help Project Angel Food’s work run smoothly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in program administration, especially in non-profit and health care. Experience in processing medical claims is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to multitask and manage multiple programs. Thorough and accurate data entry and tracking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with bi-lingual fluency in Spanish and English a plus.
  • Attention to detail and, in particular, the ability to ensure compliance with contract terms. Contributing to developing effective policies and procedures.
  • Skills to work effectively independently and also with colleagues across departments and levels, internally and externally.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite and especially Excel, as well as overall database management. Production of accurate and timely reports and invoices. Experience with or ability to quickly learn client relations management systems and medical claims systems.
  • Eagerness to participate in an evolving and growing business.
  • And always, compassion for and sensitivity to people who are critically ill, and the passion to help improve their health and well-being through providing food and love.

Terms and Benefits

  • Full time, non-exempt position with a rate of $23 per hour.
  • Annual evaluation by supervisor.
