About the role:

The Healthy Food for Denver Kid's Program Coordinator will help us sustain and grow our Healthy Food for Denver Kid's grant by supporting the Seed to Stomach Initiative and the onsite Clayton Cares Market. The Program Coordinator will support with building strong relationships across team members and departments and become a trusted and valued partner in helping to advance the organization's mission and core values. This role will support the Healthy Food for Denver Kid's Program Manager with working alongside our health and wellness team and collaborate with staff across the organization to promote Clayton Cares Market hours, offerings, events, new partnerships, and Seed to Stomach Approach. The coordinator will support the Manager with building positive relationships with others to secure volunteers on a regular basis to help support the unloading of supplies, stocking of shelves, and market hours each week.The Healthy Food for Denver Kid's Program Coordinator will execute the day-to-day operations of the market, facilitate food and supply deliveries, help to expand operations to new and valuable partnerships, and to support with the enhancement of the market experience. The coordinator will also support the development, implementation, dissemination, and expansion of the Seed to Stomach Approach. Ensuring that all activities, events, and partnerships are successful and have full engagement and support.

What we want you to do:

  • Assists in ordering the correct quantity of foods, ensure receiving, storing, and handling is performed according to established standards.
  • Receives deliveries both on campus and throughout the Denver Metro Area.
  • Reviews deliveries for invoice accuracy and report shortages.
  • Monitors and reports receipt of items of unacceptable quality or condition.
  • Responsible for storage of all food and non-food supplies to ensure compliance with recommended storage requirements, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of food storage areas, dating, and putting up delivery stock, and counting monthly physical inventory.
  • Executes operations on market days, delivery days with the help of the Market Manager, staff, and volunteers.
  • Collaborates with the marketing team on promotional materials, as needed.
  • Partners with the Market Lead on coordination of orders for supplies.
  • Supports the development, implementations, dissemination, and expansion of Clayton's Seed to Stomach Approach
  • Support SNAP and WIC enrollment of Clayton and community families.
  • Communicates and works with staff across the organization, trustees, and executive team members to secure the volunteers necessary to successfully run the market.
  • Communicates regularly to staff and volunteers about needs and gaps, fosters relationships that will support the market, and supports in expanding the network that will ensure the long-term success of food distribution effort.
  • Offers tours for potential partners and funders as needed/requested.
  • Support with identifying market gaps and issues that need addressing and troubleshoots, collaborating with other departments to implement solutions.
  • Support with recognizing staff and volunteers for their support of the market and Seed to Stomach Approach.
  • Enforces standards of cleanliness, health, and safety.

What we are looking for and what you must have:

  • Ability to communicate fluently in both English and Spanish preferred.
  • Passionate commitment to and a sense of urgency for the importance of early childhood development and taking a whole-child, whole-family approach.
  • Knowledge of local trends in food insecurity a plus, particularly as applied to children and families.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize accordingly.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in similar roles, ideally at a mission-driven organization and/or in food insecurity.
  • Solid writing and communications skills.
  • Strong speaking and presentation skill set.
  • Self-motivated and creative communicator. *
  • Knows how to build cross-functional relationships and influence others across all levels and functions within an organization. *
  • Motivated and resourceful self-starter who can proactively generate innovative ideas and partner with key stakeholders across the organization to come up with solutions.
  • Technologically proficient (MS Office, G-suite, Airtable) with the ability to learn new systems.
  • Must Pass a statewide background check and have a valid license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Compensation:
  • $20.19-$23.07 an hour
