Work Schedule:

192-day contract. Hours are 7:45-3:30 daily.

POSITION SUMMARY

Teach courses in Secondary Drama and Theatre.

Essential Functions

• Evaluate and grade high school students' class work, assignments, and projects.
• Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
• Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
• Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction.
• Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.
• Assist students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.
• Select and obtain materials and supplies.
• Advise students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues.
• Participate in campus and community events.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues.
• Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.
• Participate in cultural activities, such as attending performing arts events.
• Supervise undergraduate or graduate teaching, internship, and research work.
• Perform administrative duties such as serving as department head.
• Participate in student recruitment, registration, and placement activities.
• Act as advisers to student organizations.
• Write grant proposals to procure external research funding.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Adhere to all policies of the District.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:Experience preferred

Computer Skills: Shall be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of proficiency with computers and programs associated with the position.

Certifications & Licenses: Must have valid AR teaching license.

Other Requirements: Must pass criminal background check.
