APPLICANT WILL BE HIRED IN THE TITLE OF CHARGE NURSE FULL TIME (8 HRS/DAY- INSTRUCTOR OF NURSING DUTIES)
Monday-Friday. Hours may vary-some Evening and Night Classes.
Under supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, plans, coordinates, and carries out educational programs for all nursing personnel; does other related duties as required. Nurse Educator / Instructor provides a leadership by creating a framework of educational programs to promote the growth and development of facility licensed and unlicensed staff. Also, support facility in planning, organizing, development, and implementation of educational development and activities program for the staff.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Orienting newly hired employees by providing mandatory educational in-services and introducing to new work environment.
2. Coordinating and actively participating in unit-based orientation of licensed and unlicensed staff. Solicits involvement of unit staff as preceptors and mentors.
3. Planning and scheduling educational programs and mandatory in-services according to departments requirements with appropriate testing and grading.
4. Monitoring and providing annual mandatory education programs to all staff in the facility.
5. Providing lectures and demonstration, with return demonstration to the nursing department during competency programs in the classroom or nursing units.
6. Preparing educational materials to be used as a teaching, training, and/or refreshing educational tools for nursing practices and procedures.
7. Planning and providing educational programs for the nursing department for basic residents’ care, procedures, rules and regulations, and nursing Standard of Practice within the facility.
8. Observation/auditing nurses and nursing assistant during practical application of procedures.
9. Supporting and actively participating in Nursing Department QAPI initiatives.
10. Maintaining employee’s education record and file by providing appropriate logging system.
11. Providing 1:1 education for any employee as identified or required with recommendation of educational needs for each individual.
12. Be familiar and able to utilize various type of electronics and computer programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing Education.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of nursing experience which shall have included nursing instruction.
LICENSE: Registration or eligibility for registration as a Professional Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
