JOB SUMMARY
The senior accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews all general ledger transactions and ensures proper recording on a monthly basis.
- Facilities and completes monthly close procedures.
- Assists the CFO with oversight and monitoring grant accounting.
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations.
- Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Assists the CFO with monthly financial statement preparation and supporting schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
- Analyses financial data monthly and reports variances.
- Supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Collaborates with the other departments to support overall goals and objectives of the Organization.
- Works with the CFO to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
- Supports CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements and other related duties as required.
