Stauffer Manufacturing is Hiring a Bid Analyst Near Red Hill, PA

Summary/Objective

The Bid Analyst position is responsible for preparing a business analysis for all proposed bids for the sales team and the implementation of all bid proposals that are assigned to them. The position aims to ensure that our bids are competitive, accurate, and in alignment with our strategic objectives. These goals are accomplished by following a bid process for consistency as well as utilizing cross-departmental communication. Occasionally they will be involved in presentations and negotiations of the contracts alongside the sales team. The Bid Analyst may also use strategic pricing methodologies to perform cost analysis and coordinate price adjustments for our customers. 

Essential Functions

  • Bid Analysis: 
    • Thoroughly review bid documents to understand the customer’s expectations, evaluation criteria, and service levels 
    • Identify, cost, and price bid items
    • Negotiate costs and build relationships with vendors
  • Communicate with the sales team to gain insight on customer objectives
  • Prepare final bid proposals geared toward the customer’s expectations using knowledge gained through the analysis and sales communication process
  • Maintain bid project management in Jira
  • Use cost analysis tool to adjust customers’ pricing

  • Customer Service and Phone skills to talk to customers and vendors
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across departments
  • Proven time management skills to manage multiple projects with firm deadlines
  • Strong typing and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to learn to work within Stauffer’s GUI operating system, Jira, and Zoom 

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment and is approved for hybrid work. Job duties may be performed in an office environment that meets the requirements of the Hybrid/Remote policy. Managers can request that employees work onsite more often if necessary.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. At times standing and walking may be necessary, however must have the ability to sit for long periods of time at a desk. Frequent use of hands to operate the computer and headsets.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Travel

  • Occasional travel may be required to visit customers and make presentations

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or a combination of an associate degree and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a business analyst position; or high school diploma and 5 or more years of experience in a business analyst-related position. 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or equivalent work experience
