Position Title: Data Analyst

Location: Washington DC, some local travel will be required.

Clearance Requirements: Public Trust or US Citizen eligible to obtain a Public Trust.

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Analyst to join the Indev team in support of HSI (Homeland Security Investigations). The ideal candidate will have a background in federal law enforcement with extensive knowledge and experience in international trade, program management, policy creation, and financial investigations. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, researching, and analyzing law enforcement, trade, and financial data to identify anomalies indicative of trade-based money laundering (TBML) and other import-export crimes. Additionally, you ensure the accuracy and integrity of our premier database, the Data Analysis and Research for Trade Transparency System (DARTTS).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex data sets, develop actionable intelligence, and support HSI headquarters operations and investigations.
  • Find patterns and anomalies in data related to precursor chemical shipments.
  • Provide case support through the request for assistance workflow, generate leads, conduct investigative analysis and de-conflict investigative overlaps.
  • Engage in advanced data analytics to bolster HSI’s enforcement and investigative operations.
  • Use Business Intelligence (BI) tools to create and publish reports, identify anomalies in data and support operational needs that include exploiting key datasets such as trade, financial records, communications, and supply chain information.
  • Use law enforcement systems to find networks, discern patterns, and de-conflict investigative overlaps, as well as perform pattern, trend, and link analysis in collaboration with HSI special agents and law enforcement partners.
  • Prepare analytical products, reports, and presentations detailing findings and recommendations based on data analysis.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science degree.
  • Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in federal law enforcement with a focus on international trade, financial investigations, and program management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and specialized software including DARTTS, CBP Automated Targeting Systems, and Palantir Technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, research, and interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
