Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Authorization Specialist to join our team. As an Authorization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that medical procedures and services are properly authorized and approved by insurance companies. Your knowledge of insurance verification and office administration will be essential in this role.

Duties:
- Obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures and services
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10) for billing purposes
- Communicate with insurance companies/ managed care organizations to resolve any authorization or billing issues
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and office staff to ensure smooth authorization processes

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a medical office setting is preferred, preferably in the Mental Health field.
- Knowledge in medical terminology and coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes and requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient privacy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
