The Museum of Modern Art is Hiring an Operations and Investment Analyst Near New York, NY

Salary: $85,000 to $95,000 annually

Position summary:

The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for an Operations and Investment Analyst to join its Investment Office. Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Operations and Investment Analyst is responsible for investment operations of the Museum’s Endowment and Pension Plan, including processing investment and cash transactions, data management, investment tracking, performance reporting and analysis. The Operations and Investment Analyst will work closely with members of the Investment Office and the Museum’s Finance and Accounting teams to provide information, reports, documents, etc., and with external investment managers, custodians, systems providers and auditors to obtain and provide documents, communicate information, coordinate projects, and facilitate investments and related transactions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages and executes investment transactions for current and new funds, including preparation of subscription documents and wire transfers, managing redemptions, capital calls and other cash flows.
  • Reviews manager documents, including statements and reports and communicates key information with the Investment Office.
  • Prepares materials for Investment Committee meetings, including fund and portfolio exposure, risk and performance analysis.
  • Conducts research as well as quantitative and qualitative analyses related to macro trends and investment opportunities.
  • Communicates and collaborates with other departments across the Museum, including Finance and Accounting, Development, and Human Resources.
  • Perform other office duties as necessary, including managing subscriptions and processing vendor payments and travel expenses.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years related experience or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Responsive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort performing a variety of tasks with a focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Professional and friendly demeanor to effectively work/interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Experience with Excel, Google docs and PowerPoint, and Burgiss or other portfolio management software a plus.

Reports to: Chief Investment Officer. Also works closely with the Investments Associate on operations and performance analytics and with the Managing Director, Investments on investment analysis.

Salary range: Minimum of $85,000 to $95,000 per annum
