Florida Eye Specialists is Hiring an Ophthalmology Office Manager Near Jacksonville, FL

Starting pay based on experience!

Office Managers will work directly with Site Supervisors and other Office Managers to ensure the smooth running of offices through managing, training, and guiding their employees as well as planning the day-to-day activities. The successful candidate must have prior experience working in an Ophthalmology practice and be willing to learn all positions. Willingness to attain certification in the first 6 months will be required.

This position will be for offices in our Northern Florida region, including Northside and Fernandina Beach.

Office Managers will be required to travel to other offices, based on clinic need.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, plans and manages functions related to assigned clinics. Oversees and directs the day-to-day activities of staff
  • Overseeing the entire selection and recruitment procedure of new candidates
  • Undertaking the training and orientation procedures of new employees to make them well-versed with the office policies, procedures and equipment
  • Act as a source of information and answer questions, assign tasks, follow up and give instructions as necessary
  • Assist in the supervision, coaching, training, reviewing and disciplining of all employees
  • Ensure that team members obtain the appropriate training and support to best apply their knowledge and skills on the job
  • Prepares and directs scheduling, monitors staff attendance, schedules shifts & breaks as necessary
  • Attending regular meetings with management team to review performance of offices and staff
  • Comply with HIPPA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information
  • Travel to other offices, based on clinic need
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Flexible schedule - ability to work early/stay late when necessary
  • Knowledge of clinical flow, with at least one year of clinical experience
  • Ability to motivate staff, and delegate orders when needed
  • Ability to multi-task, excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Able to perform every position in the practice
  • Minimum COA, or willingness to obtain within 6 months

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years of Management/Supervisor experience, preferably in Ophthalmology

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer
  • Repetitive hand movements (specifically keyboarding and writing)
