DEMAND ANALYST

Position Summary:

This position develops and maintains our sales demand/forecast for Sales and Operational Planning. Individual provides insight to Sales and Operations team at client level by product family. Position also provides miscellaneous reporting and analysis as needed to the Sales Leadership team.

Essential Functions:

• Develop a plan of anticipated demand and assumptions monthly by product family for sales and operations planning.
• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
• Develop macro demand plan to validate the overall size of the business and identify improvement or slippage in market share. The macro demand plan indicators should be monitored monthly for change.
• Develop, document, update and challenge the factors and assumptions supporting the demand plan.
• Assist the sales and marketing organizations, including the demand review leader, in preparing for the demand review meeting and executive sales and operations planning meeting.
• Develop product mix demand plan as input for master scheduling.
• Develop a demand plan of anticipated demand for new products and/or new markets, working with product and marketing managers as appropriate.
• Establish, maintain and utilize forecasting and communication tools for accomplishing the above.
• Monitor the demand plan performance, providing detailed information to sales and marketing management for use in the demand review and executive sales and operations planning meeting.
• Measure and report actual vs. planned performance – overall, by sales territory, and by product family.
• Be the day-to-day point of contact for the master scheduler to manage change and synchronize demand and supply to achieve the optimal balance of customer responsiveness and production stability.
• Additional duties as assigned by the supervisor of this position.

Minimum Required Experience or Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in data analytics with business/technical emphasis
• Experience in purchasing, supply chain management, demand forecasting or related field.
• Industry experience in a corporate environment
