The Front Office Assistant is responsible for greeting patients and obtaining their personal information such as address and insurance information. This person is expected to manage communications with patients, insurers and other staff. Their role is to keep track of patient information and organize office records to ensure that all patients get prompt care and provide the correct payment information for their accounts. The Front Office Assistant interacts with patients by helping them fill out intake forms, calling to remind them about appointment times, working out payment schedules and explaining next steps to process a referral or fill a prescription. They file medical paperwork and record interactions related to each file.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Included but not limited to the following):

§ Greet and check-in patients.

§ Perform office clerical support including but not limited to registering patients, entering patient information required for insurance and billing purposes into the computer, answering telephone, pulling medical records, scheduling appointments, and prioritizing multiple tasks efficiently.

§ Collect co-payments and understand CPT and ICD-10 coding.

§ Post charges and payments into practice management system as needed.

§ Verify patient insurance.

§ Prepares bank deposits.

§ Ability to use a computer to document required information into the electronic medical record.

§ Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

General Requirements:

Professional appearance; Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment; Assists other members of the department as needed and Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Must be comfortable with constant standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing and kneeling; Lifting up to 30 pounds

Pay: $14.00 per hour
