Step into a vital role as an Inspector Packer on our dedicated third shift at our plastics manufacturing facility. This position is ideal for those who are detail-oriented and flourish in a methodical, high-energy environment. Your tasks will ensure the integrity and quality of our finished products as you inspect, trim, and package them with precision. If you're a night owl with a keen eye for detail, your nightly efforts will be key to our operational success.
Activities
- Use specialized tools like knives, punches, reamers, and spin trimming equipment to precisely trim excess material from products.
- Assemble cartons and ensure quality containers are packed correctly, utilizing caps, sides, and banding as necessary.
- Oversee the smooth operation of machines, addressing and escalating issues swiftly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct thorough inspections of each product for defects and ensure all labeling is accurate and free of errors.
- Maintain ink trays and glue tanks filled to support ongoing production needs.
- Manage all required documentation, including production forms and labels, ensuring accurate labeling and tracking of units.
- Engage in wrapping tasks and consistently keep the production area clean and orderly.
- Comply with all prescribed quality and safety protocols during all operations.
Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry for most of the night shift.
- Manual coordination to handle tools and delicate materials effectively.
- Visual acuity to identify quality issues and ensure product specifications are met.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or packing is beneficial but not required.
- Operate in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, with exposure to variable temperatures, noise, and dust.
- Mandatory wearing of protective gear such as hair nets, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves.
- The job involves medium to heavy physical work, requiring up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
