Objective

As a Mechanical Engineer with The Modal Shop you will support engineering, quality, production and product group teams by improving engineering designs for manufacturability, product quality, repeatability and reproducibility.

Responsibilities

Design hardware products as project leader.

Follow MSQS Section 4.4 Design Control.

Perform engineering and technical documentation duties, including but not limited to:

Develop design documentation using SOLIDWORKS, and SOLIDWORKS Electrical for Models, drawings and schematics

Support TMS PDM (Product Data Management) system and ERP Syteline Systems

Create and update necessary procedures and product documentation as requested by Engineering, Quality, Product Group, and Production Teams

Review design documentation for other engineers and co-ops

Manage FTQ BOM updates

Promote principles of lean manufacturing with continuous improvement through MSQS and QC/OI systems.

Work with vendors and customers.

Mentor Mechanical Engineers and co-ops while they develop and refine skills.

Review mechanical aspects during formal design reviews.

Review mechanical drawings prior to release.

Provide creative solutions to design problems and facilitate innovation within the engineering team.

Learn new software, testing techniques as required.

Perform related duties as assigned or needed for the efficient operation of the team.

Minimum Qualifications

Education - BS in Mechanical Engineering

Experience - 10 years of related experience. Parametric Modeling (SOLIDWORKS), MS Office, PDM, ERP Systems, SOLIDWORKS Electrical, Vibration Dynamics, Metrology

Travel: May travel as needed
