Urbandale Community School District is Hiring a Work-Based Learning Facilitator [2024-25 School Year] Near Urbandale, IA

PURPOSE

Provide personalized learning that supports each student in achieving his or her potential. Engages in professional growth and fulfills professional responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

(Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Education, Certification/Licensure, Experience, Equipment)

A. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to provide effective instruction to meet student needs relative to district benchmarks and standards.

Knowledge of "best practice" in teaching

Knowledge of the developmental characteristics of students at the designated grade level.

Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

Knowledge of the Iowa Teaching Standards

Knowledge of special education and section 504

Knowledge of Federal Rights and Privacy Act and other civil rights regulations

B. Education

Earned bachelor's degree in Education or Board of Educational Examiners approved alternative.

C. Certification/Licensure

Iowa Teaching credential/certificate/license, including 5-12 Multi-Occupations Endorsement-305, for 5-12 grade level issued by the BOEE

D. Preferred knowledge, skills, an/or attributes:

Knowledge of Deming's system of profound knowledge and "quality" principles and practices.

Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Ability to organize and think clearly while communicating, organizing and evaluating.

Knowledge of district organizational structure and function, as well as laws, rules and regulations pertaining thereto.

Ability to communicate within the structure of the organization as well as the community. Clearly articulate goals and expectations to adults and students.

Highly developed oral and written communication skills.

Ability to build relationships effectively and professionally with families, students, and community partners.

Experience developing and implementing work-based learning curriculum.

Knowledge of best practices in career exploration, awareness, preparation, and training.

Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and moving throughout the room.

Proven ability to maintain a safe classroom environment.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum.

Ability to collaborate within the school and instructional setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates effective implementation of the eight Iowa Teaching Standards and 42 criteria

Implements 'quality' principles and tools to create student-centered learning environments and improve overall quality and meaningfulness of learning opportunities.

Meets professional responsibilities as outlined in the Professional Growth Assessment Plan, Employee Handbook, and Board policy.

Develops, with supervisor, a plan for professional growth.

Maintain a reliable attendance record.

Perform other duties as assigned.
