Site Coordinator (ROOTS)

The Site Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs within BGCSCT Program Sites, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Sports-Fitness & Recreation and Healthy Lifestyles. This person will work closely with the Programs Director to plan & oversee the administration of designated programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes.

The Site Coordinator will maintain program goals that ensure the health and safety of members while overseeing proper record keeping/reporting for activities/events conducted and participation & attendance data. The Site Coordinator will work closely with the Programs Director to establish and maintain relationships with potential partnering organizations, local ISD’s and businesses. The Site Coordinator also ensures productive and effective performance by all program staff, volunteers and mentors. 

The Site Coordinator reports to the Programs Director and will serve as a substitute instructor as needed for the Texas Preparatory School.

  • Communicating with parents, students, employees and others;
  • Telephone etiquette;
  • Communicating with potential partnering organizations, local schools and businesses;
  • Managing staff & event coordination;
  • Related study or work experience field;
  • Operating office machines and personal computers;
  • Working with little supervision;

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Able to create enrichment lessons that support core subjects;
  • Able to use non-traditional materials and spaces to enhance learning;
  • Communicates with parents, students, employees and others;
  • Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus-wide initiatives;
  • Develop students' character and sense of community in the classroom;
  • Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust;
  • Provide enrichment leadership for in school and after school program students;
  • Attend scheduled meetings with Programs Director to coordinate program design, evaluation process, and outreach efforts;
  • Work closely with Programs Director to organize schedule of enrichment and/or recreational activities; implement evaluation tools; and complete professional development;
  • Performs other duties as assigned;

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 5 or more years of Youth Development and Education experience
  • Must be willing to travel intra-organizationally;
  • Ability to adjust to new job responsibilities as assigned;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Basic computer knowledge;
  • Working with little to no supervision;
  • Ability to instruct students;
  • Ability to manage student behavior;
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the campus environment;
  • Believes and is committed to our mission and being an agent of change;
  • Able to use student management systems for daily tasks and reporting;
  • Ability to adjust to new job responsibilities, as assigned;
  • Time management and behavior management skills;

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a background check; 
  • Have a clean driving record (Department of Public Safety);
  • Must be able to pass a background check and fingerprinting;
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, (2) Saturday’s per month & occasional evenings.

Job Details:

Days: Monday – Friday; Scheduled Saturdays

Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM

Salary: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour
