Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community (CKV) is currently seeking dedicated individuals to become a part of our culinary team and help provide our team members and residents quality meals and a dignified dining experience.CKV will provide you with opportunities to enjoy a friendly work environment guided by Christian values.
As a Cook working at CKV, you will not be scheduled to work past 7:00 p.m.!
Our current needs include:

• Full-time Benefits Eligible Position: working 37.5 hours per week, with the ability to work day shift, occasional evenings, every third weekend and rotating holidays.
• Part-time Benefits Eligible Position; working 30 hours per week, with the ability to work day shift, occasional evenings, every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Job Description:
As a Cook, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

• Preparing food items for residents and team members. Cafeteria and special functions as designated by production sheets using quantity recipes, designated portion control, and instructions by the Executive Chef and Head Cook.
• Following sanitation and infection control standards in preparation, proper handling of leftover items and cleanliness of area.
• Checking plated food for proper presentation and completeness and ensuring food temperature requirements are met.
• Willing to learn new cooking techniques and regularly demonstrating those skills on-the-job.
• Participating in ongoing culinary education and training programs to enhance skills and experience.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Working knowledge of food service preparation as would be required through two years of related work experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of HACCP procedures and PA Department of Agriculture Sanitation Certification is preferred.
