DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT (30%)
· Coach, mentor and develop team members
· Assist in training new team members to maintain a skilled workforce
· Create/manage team schedules to maximize coverage and team performance, while minimizing overtime
· Work with Receiving Supervisor to manage team workload/headcount to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness and meet the business need
· Support the Receiving Supervisor to create/manage team schedules to maximize coverage and team performance, while minimizing overtime and temp labour
· Support the Receiving Supervisor in analyzing team reporting, ensuring all members are aware of and meeting department metrics and KPIs
· Ensure your team follows all Warehouse SOP’s, and any new SOPs. Document and develop net SOP’s according to business need, and according to the Receiving Supervisor.
· Partner with the Receiving Supervisor and HR to ensure proper onboarding and training for all new hires
· Create and maintain an efficient, effective, safe, clean, organized and productive work environment.
DAY TO DAY (70%)
· Ensure all Warehouse Dashboards are filled out and updated per your Receiving Supervisor.
· Update and maintain accurate information for dashboards
· Support the Receiving Supervisor and ensure all daily responsibilities are attended to in a customer service-oriented and productive fashion
· Support the Receiving Supervisor in ensuring the Warehouse runs smoothly across all areas day-to-day, supporting in troubleshooting issues as they arise
· Partner with the Receiving Supervisor to lead Operations improvements across the Warehouse as directed, ensuring projects and initiatives are completed on time and achieve stated objectives
· Partner with Receiving Supervisor to support safety initiatives and goals for the building
· Lead the team in executing any other required projects, tasks or duties for warehouse operations, as required
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· 2-3 years of Warehouse experience within a warehouse environment
· Experience working across multiple buildings considered an asset
· Experience across all areas of areas of warehouse operations an asset
· Experience with UPS, Fedex, Courriers, LTL and container shipping
· Proficiency in RF Scan, MS Word, Excel and Outlook
· Excellent communication skills (verbal, written)
· A self-starter who takes initiative and sets good example for the warehouse staff
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed
· Flexibility with working hours
· Bilingual is a plus
