What You Do.
Grade/Inspect incoming raw materials against specifications, evaluate Certificate of Analysis (COA) data, and utilize laboratory analysis to determine acceptability.
Correlate data to determine supplier process capabilities and follows the on-boarding qualification process.
Determine integrity of raw materials and make recommendations as to disposition.
Make decision as to accepting those materials meeting Sargento's specifications and rejecting/returning unsatisfactory materials.
Issue Nonconformances and/or placing raw materials on Hold when materials do not meet Sargento standards of quality and/or other specifications.
Assist with monitoring raw materials on the production lines for product appearance, functionality, performance and adherence to Sargento specifications.
Support departments with raw material quality concerns. Communicate concerns to Operational Quality Personnel, Procurement Manager, Supply Quality, and Production Management.
Supports the Operational Quality department on the Material Review Board and grading evaluation tables.
Manage SOPs, documents, and records in accordance with QS document control procedures.
Supports Food Safety & Quality on internal projects as a technical resource.
Supports grading/inspection at External Warehouses and working with suppliers as needed.
Investigates and responds to requests from customers and consumers. Lead and facilitate meetings and provide quality support on continuous improvement projects.
Participate in industry-sponsored seminars to keep knowledge base current.
Provide back-up support to others in the department as necessary.
Assist with product retrievals / recalls.
Assist in internal audits.
Handle confidential information.
