This position is responsible for the technical oversight and leadership of a group that provides reliability engineering, monitors performance, establishes metrics, identifies projects, and recommends improvements to enhance the reliability of the transmission system.
The position will be located in Louisville or Lexington, KY based on the candidate's preference.
Responsibilities:Supervises engineers, co-op students, and other regular full-time employees, including planning, job assignments, development, and performance appraisals.
Establishes and manages section goals and objectives and an operation plan and annual budget consistent with department strategies.
Analyze transmission data from various systems to support Transmission operating and maintenance functions with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Leverage transmission data to optimize capital spend, reduce cost, and improve reliability.
Leads the effort to enhance and maintain CFR, TRODS, PI and implement technology solutions for the reliability group. Serves as the primary IT contact for these initiatives.
Provides technical review, analysis, and recommendations related to highly visible and/or otherwise exceptional system outage events.
Performs benchmarking studies and analysis related to reliability performance. Recommends reliability improvements to the transmission system; including, but not limited to new capital projects, operating procedures, and transmission design improvements.
Develops reports and dashboards to track operational performance, financials, resource needs, and resource efficiency. Drive automation capabilities into reporting solutions.
Participates in North American Transmission Forum initiatives, including peer reviews, information sharing, and metrics analysis.
Provides peripheral analytical support and technical troubleshooting for transmission planning and system operations engineering functional areas.
Ensures projects are managed to the approved scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications:Required Qualifications
Education
ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in transmission, distribution, or generation systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Effective interpersonal and team building skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications Relevant post baccalaureate degree. Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems from a business perspective. SQL experience and expertise with data visualization tools.
