inquirED was founded by teachers with the mission of bringing inquiry-based learning to every student. Inquiry Journeys, inquirED's elementary social studies curriculum, is used in schools and districts in 30 states to help students develop deep social studies content knowledge and build the skills essential for a thriving democracy. We're looking for an ELA Director that can bring our model of inquiry to life in a content rich, literacy curriculum. In this role, you'll be a visionary thinker as you work with the Head of Learning Experience to design the model as well as an executor as you create the prototype. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for elementary literacy and an understanding of how to design inquiry-based, high quality instructional materials. You'll have in-depth knowledge of the current literacy research base as well as a practical understanding of what teachers need in the classroom. You'll have the aptitude for building something that doesn't exist, thrive in ambiguity, and be highly iterative in your work. Requirements * Experience as an elementary literacy curriculum designer and reviewer * Experience in project management, specific to large-scale curriculum development projects * Strong managerial skills and ability to give and utilize both quantitative and qualitative data and feedback to drive product iteration * Strong understanding of and proven success with rapid iterative design process * Strong understanding of inquiry-based curriculum design * Deep knowledge of literacy standards and trends across a national landscape in grades K-5 * Strong research and writing skills * Extreme attention to detail, including skill in evaluating clarity, consistency, and alignment * Meticulous organizational ability in order to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities and meet ambitious deadlines * Ability to thrive in a fast paced, feedback driven environment in circumstances involving ambiguity and nuance * Knowledge of second language acquisition in the curriculum content areas preferred * A willingness to be scrappy, creative, and unconventional * A commitment to inquirED's mission and model of inquiry Benefits Why work for us * Health & Wellness: Competitive medical, dental and vision plans. * Impact: Growing start up where your voice matters and you can make a real impact. * Work from Home: Almost all of our roles are fully remote - tech stipend included! * Time Off: Flexible PTO plan that's about getting the work done, not clocking hours. * Other Benefits: 401K matching, parental leave, and 12 paid holidays Must be U.S. based. *Please note that because of high application volume, we are only able to respond to applicants moving forward in the process. The base compensation range for this role is $100-130K. Total compensation for this role also includes a full benefits package. This compensation range and title may be adjusted based on actual experience.
