Job Details Job Location Nichols College - Dudley, MA Position Type Part Time Job Category Education Description Date Position Available August 1, 2024 Application Procedure Cover letter & resume Compensation $15.00 an hour - 20 hours per week Partial (50%) Graduate tuition remission at Nichols College Job Summary The Graduate Assistant for Campus Recreation will be responsible for managing all aspects of Campus Recreation including Club Sports, Intramurals and Campus Wellness Classes. Responsible for creating an environment that values and promotes the student experience. The Graduate Assistant will also assist in general Student Involvement duties. Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate intramural sports program including program design, scheduling, working with vendors, maintaining communication with team captains, refereeing sports as needed.
Manage the Campus Wellness Programs; Act as the point of contact for fitness classes.
Supervise the Campus Recreation Committee, student interns, and volunteers.
Hire, train, and supervise Campus Recreation Work Study students.
Coordinate Sport Shack co-op program by distributing, tracking and maintaining Campus Recreation equipment.
Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all Nichols College and Student Involvement policies and procedures.
Chaperone events as needed including evening, late night and weekends.
Assist with major Student Involvement initiatives including but not limited to Family Day, Welcome Weekend, Student Leadership Awards and BisonFest.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Job Components
Light to moderate lifting of files, supplies and office materials.
Able to use office and telecommunications equipment.
Walking required; traveling may be expected at times.
Preparation, Knowledge and Skills and Abilities
Must be accepted into and or enrolled in a Nichols College graduate degree program.
Minimum commitment of 2 years
Ability and desire to communicate and work effectively with students daily is a must.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational and management skills.
Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and travel logistics.
Proficient with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience with Campus Recreation, Student Involvement, or Athletics is preferred.
