Requirements
•Graduates of medical schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). Successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees, Council on Podiatric Medical Education (Podiatric Residency Program), and American Dental Association (Dental/OMFS Residency Programs). Some programs require successful passage of board exams (or good faith effort to pass) for promotion through subsequent years of fellowship.
•Graduates of colleges of osteopathic medicine in the United States accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees, Council on Podiatric Medical Education (Podiatric Residency Program), and American Dental Association (Dental/OMFS Residency Programs).
•Graduates of medical schools outside the United States and Canada who meet one of the following qualifications:
•Have a current valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates prior to appointment,
OR
•Have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a US licensing jurisdiction in which they are in training,
OR
•Have completed a Fifth Pathway program* provided by an LCME-accredited medical school and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training
•Successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training specified by ACGME Residency Review Committees, Council on Podiatric Medical Education (Podiatric Residency Program), and American Dental Association (Dental/OMFS Residency Programs) .
•Graduates of medical schools outside the United States who have completed a Fifth Pathway program* provided by an LCME-accredited medical school and successful completion of any pre-requisite accredited training.
•Credentialing Requirements
An accurate and completed residency application including:
a. Proof of legal employment status (i.e., birth certificate, passport, naturalization papers, valid visa, etc.).
b. A copy of Fellow's medical school diploma.
c. An official medical school transcript.
d. A Dean's letter from the medical school from which the Fellow graduated.
e. If the Fellow is an international medical school graduate, an original, current, and valid ECFMG Certificate.
f. Such other and further information that TBHC may request in connection with the Fellow's credentials.
1. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
4. Infection Prevention & Control Certification
5. Conscious Sedation Certification
6. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) as required for certain residencies
Job Description
The Resident (House Staff Officer), under the direction/supervision of an Attending Physician, whose clinical privileges are appropriate to the activities in which the Resident is engaged. Provides patient care base/matching the incumbent's level of advancement and competence. Responsibilities include patient care activities within the scope of the incumbent's clinical privileges commensurate with the level of training, attendance of clinical rounds and seminars, timely completion of medical records, and other responsibilities as assigned or as required of all members of the medical staff.
