The Foot Messenger provides delivery services to customers in urban areas. The Foot Messenger will provide services during specific hours and is responsible for successfully delivering customers shipments and providing high customer service levels. The Foot Messenger should have good navigation skills and be able to deliver shipments efficiently in a fast-paced, high production environment. The Foot Messenger should have previous experience interacting with customers, excellent communication skills and be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Individual tasks shall include but not be limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Exceed customers' expectations in the delivery process.
• Meet the stated delivery deadline for all deliveries in a safe manner.
• Be courteous and professional to the shipper and consignee when making deliveries.
• Communicate clearly and timely any issues during the delivery process to the Dispatch staff.
• Ensure any special instructions and/or requests from customers are followed.
• Must be physically able to perform efficiently the duties of the position (deliver orders up to 50lbs. in weight to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time which may include walking up or down several flights of stairs).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to establish a high-level of trust and credibility in the organization.
• Proactive and resourceful. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization. Read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to clearly communicate and read in English.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills.
• Proficient computer skills MS Word, Excel, Outlook and database software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with local geography and mass transit system.
• Comfort /familiarity with basic smartphone operations.
• Ability to utilize a map and directions on web-based navigation tools such as Google or Waze.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts to include weekends.
• 21 years of age or older.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.

Shift Days : Monday-Friday
Shift Hours: 2:00PM-8:00PM(Available to work extra hours, weekends, and holidays preferred.)
Pay Rate : $16.00 per hour (Dependent upon experience level.)
Work Location: Onsite | 440 La Salle St., STE 205, Chicago, IL 60605
Travel: On occasion
