The Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising and training maintenance personnel in the preventative maintenance of existing equipment as well as the research and installation of new equipment. This position will lead, guide, and develop their team to participate in the troubleshooting and repairing of the maintenance production equipment as well as facility needs that support the achievement of the organization’s goals and objectives.

This position will also be responsible for planning and directing all maintenance activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Schedule and maintain preventative maintenance of all equipment.
• Work with building engineers to ensure all facility concerns are remedied.
• Responsible for managing departmental budget.
• Hire and train new staff and handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policies.
• Schedule and plan PM work and daily activities of the Maintenance team.
• Responsible for safe work practices including proper Lock Out Tag Out policy.
• Determine best practices for process flow.
• Provide guidance and technical assistance during equipment breakdowns.
• Monitor team’s performance by goal setting & individual coaching sessions.
• Provide constructive annual performance evaluations to the team.
• Coordinate Maintenance activities to comply with Production, Warehouse, and QA standards.
• Must be a productive and collaborative member of the plant management team.
• Participate in all plant audits and provide accurate documentation as needed.
• Report on Maintenance activities in monthly companywide meeting.
• Maintain a high level of safety awareness.
• Work closely with appropriate parties regarding equipment, plant process improvements and / or expansions.
• Responsible for minimizing downtime and ensuring plant equipment is in proper shape for best performance.
• Plan and design new line installation.
• Work closely with all departments to ensure all maintenance concerns are handled promptly.
• Work closely with the Quality department for audit needs, including active participation in the audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred experience in food processing or packaging equipment.
• Proficient knowledge in mechanical, electrical, & utilities
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with CAD or other drawing programs is preferred.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 – 5 Years Maintenance Management experience.
• Food Manufacturing equipment experience a plus
• Bi-lingual, Spanish preferred
