Who we are looking for:

We are looking for someone to join our team as an Applications Chemist to assist with key account support, instrument installation, application inquiries, and team education. The position is also responsible for coordinating and analyzing incoming samples as well as performing instrument demonstrations and trainings. You will be responsible for establishing client relationships and maintaining loyalty through application support and training of systems. During on-site visits you will help educate clients with Take-15 and drive referrals for milesCARE.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can take direction and then work independently. The three main areas you will support are the Product team, our Service team, and our clients.

What you can expect in the Applications Chemist role at Milestone:

Install Milestone products with our Northeast & MidAtlantic Regions

• Approximately 4 to 6 a month
• Occasional travel outside to other Regions to help with installations as needed
• Provide field support for our Tier 1 & 2 Products
• Support clients by solving application problems on-site
• Maintain cost efficiencies within Milestone’s Travel policy

Responsible for on-site and remote training modules for clients and field team

• Lead for organizing and communicating the install training with the field team
• Train the trainers – making sure all new chemists are properly trained and following procedure for field training
• Manage structure, making sure clients and sales team are informed around installation

Primary contact for post-sales Application Support

• Work with the Service Department by developing enough experience and knowledge with our product lines to support and answer client questions
• Develop strong applications, engineering and troubleshooting knowledge for all products spanning both Analytical and Terpene Processing Divisions
• Examples: Mercury Analysis, Microwave Digestion, Microwave Extraction

Enhance post-sales support by identifying additional accessories/consumables and instrument opportunities, building strong customer relationships, developing references/user profiles

• Maintain client loyalty and drive referrals
• Continually update Salesforce, Milestone’s selected CRM and contact database, on a post-sales basis

Partner with Product Specialist team to provide client support

• Run product samples
• Perform customer specific product demonstrations as needed
• Solve application problems
• to take technical information and distill it in a clear and concise manner
• new user training and application guidance to clients

Basic skills we prefer you to have:

• Degree in Chemistry or Science related field preferred
• years of successful experience in laboratory equipment or supplies/capital equipment sales is a bonus
• technical and competitive information in a clear, concise manner
• with sample preparation or metals analysis
• expertise or aptitude for inorganic and organic chemistry applications
• to travel up to 25-30% of the time
• strong awareness of market conditions regarding products, product updates, service offerings and new technologies through available resources
• oral, written and communication skills.
• skills: Microsoft Office proficient, experience with Salesforce a plus
