Description

Hampden-Sydney College is accepting internal applications for two Building Services Lead Technician positions. Reporting to the Building Services Supervisor, the Building Services Lead Technician leads a team of Building Service Technicians within a zone, service area, or other means of grouping. Ensures that all building services related duties are performed according to standard operating procedures, product guidelines, and quality standards. Also performs cleaning, stocking, and servicing duties within assigned areas to Facilities Management standards. May be asked to participate in the on-call rotation. 

Qualifications


Qualifications: 
Education/Experience

  • A valid Virginia driver’s license is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-5 years of experience preferred.
  • Industry certification from the ISSA, IICRC, or similar institute is preferred.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures preferred.
  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time required.
  • Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals preferred.
