As an Instructional Designer, you will collaborate with, consult, and support faculty (credit and non-credit) as well as staff in the development of instructional strategies, assessment techniques, and the appropriate integration of instructional technologies to enhance pedagogy and improve student learning. You will support face-to-face, blended, and online courses with a specific emphasis on promoting Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies.
In this role you will collaborate with other Faculty Success Center staff to develop and facilitate professional development opportunities supporting instructional design, UDL, and developing accessible materials.
You may serve on committees such as the Institutional Learning Outcomes Assessment committee to assist faculty on program assessment and student learning outcomes assessment strategies.
Additional responsibilities as follows:
* Collaborate with team members for programming and services supporting exemplary instruction and compile and develop related resources with particular emphasis on UDL.
* Ensure online and blended courses meet college and accessibility requirements and perform technical and quality reviews of online and blended courses.
* Develop metrics to track progress on accessibility of instructional materials and practices, and contribute relevant data to the annual campus-wide accessibility reporting requirements.
* If applicable, collaborate with the Human Resources department to hire, orient, train, and evaluate assigned staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
Appropriate education, training, experience and talents are required. An example of this would be a Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design and Educational Technology or other related field as well as at least two years experience using a learning management system for instructional and course and/or program development.
Required knowledge and skills:
* Experience with online and blended course design.
* Experience using a learning management system.
* Working knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) pedagogies and educational accessibility principles, current theories, models and exemplary practices in higher education.
* Skill in designing and delivering training.
