Position Purpose

The primary role of this position is to support the testing within a lab environment using machines, tools and other devices to test customer product, platforms, fasteners, wooden/plastic pallets, and any of their components. Responsible for all operational items related to running the facility, including, directing shift personnel, and implementing safety, quality, costs, production, service, and process initiatives to comply with all corporate policies, goals, and objectives.

Major/Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all digitalization testing within GPD and required to provide leadership, training, mentoring, and potentially disciplinary actions in the development of employees; ensure Zero Harm initiatives are always met.
• Possess basic computer skills and can operate Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Must be able to make decisions on the fly.
• Performs lab testing in accordance with ISTA and ISO standards.
• Repeatedly lifts wooden/plastic pallets, and components of wooden/plastic pallets such as deck boards and blocks.
• Understands and has a working knowledge of the PQS for each platform.
• Ability to follow a test plan; take photos and collect data as needed.
• Reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unsafe or unusual conditions to Manager.
• Demonstrates ability and willingness to meet and/or exceed productions goals in a team and/or independent environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner.
• Performs work in a safe manner adhering to all safety regulations and policies.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area using brooms, shovels, dust pans, web dusters and other cleaning tools provided by management.
• Ability to count and take a physical inventory.
• Perform lab testing in accordance with ISO and ISTA testing standards.
• Conduct basic analysis of test subject.
• Basic project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiar with precision measurement instruments (callipers, moisture meter, Mibant, Instron, Optical Comparator, Charpy, environmental chambers, and other lab equipment)
• Attends all safety meetings and trainings & adhere to Zero Harm
• Actively participates in the Near Miss Program by notifying supervisor/manager of any “near misses” observed.
• Performs other duties required or directed, on a temporary or permanent basis, as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, intermittent stooping/bending, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder, and repetitively rotating hand/wrist/forearm with or without accommodation.
• Repeatedly lifting 50-75lbs in a highly physical indoor/outdoor environment with or without accommodation.
• Dependable work history, with proven ability to contribute and work effectively in a team environment.
• Minimum 2 years prior experience in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Possess basic computer skills and can operate Microsoft Office suite of products.

Base pay range $52,000 - $78,000/annual

Salary ranges provided take into account a wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications, geographic differentials and other business and organizational needs. Therefore, actual amounts offered may be higher or lower than the range provided.
