**About the job**

The Production Supervisor is accountable for the safety and health of the employees under his/her direction by recognizing and reducing risk and managing processes that prevent incidents in his/her areas. The Supervisor must ensure that safe work procedures and practices are followed and address at-risk behaviors in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Coordinates the daily operations of the Calciner department (Kiln/Dock/Lab).

Mentor and counseling employees on standard operating procedures

Accountability for traditional administrative tasks such daily shift reports, daily compliance inspections (Safety, Environmental, Quality, Housekeeping, Timekeeping, and Incident reporting.

Must be willing and able to work a rotating 12-hour shift.

Covers job duties for sick, vacation, and other absences of other Production Supervisors.

Prioritize tasks to reflect the changing situation in the plant (personnel/equipment).

Conduct daily toolbox meetings and hold monthly safety meeting with hourly crews.

Supervise maintenance personnel on off shifts.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED

A minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience in an industrial environment.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to share examples of problem-solving experience

Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel)

Experience initiating and implementing change

Supervisory experience in a union environment

Knowledge of ABS or Lean Manufacturing principles
