POSITION: Lead Full Stack Software Engineer

REPORTING TO:

Software Engineering Manager

SCHEDULE

35-hour work week, Monday through Friday

LOCATION

Flexible. In-person attendance is expected during our annual, weeklong all-staff summit. Additionally, participation for in-person meetings is expected at least once per year for most employees, and at least once per quarter for senior leaders.

COMPENSATION

$125,000 - $155,000 (this range is for the NYC area and will be adjusted for other localities; additionally, factors like skills and experience will be considered).

POSITION SUMMARY

As the Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the development and optimization of robust, scalable solutions utilizing a combination of React, .NET C#, and advanced database technologies. Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and optimize scalable solutions in cloud environments such as AWS and Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, UX designers, and architects to integrate diverse systems and ensure robust, secure data interactions that meet business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the development of intuitive, responsive user interfaces by leveraging React as the primary front-end framework and ensuring the use of clean, cohesive, and semantic HTML, CSS, SASS, LESS, and JavaScript through constructive feedback and review sessions.
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of high-quality API solutions using .NET C# programming language.
  • Build high quality software solutions that deliver value for customers.
  • Apply principles of object-oriented programming to enhance application architecture and design.
  • Ability to articulate the benefits and challenges of front-end libraries, frameworks, and toolsets.
  • Work within cloud computing environments, such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, to deploy, manage, and troubleshoot solutions.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment using Agile methodologies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by exploring alternative technologies and methodologies.
  • Act as a source of information of web UI technologies and development techniques.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
  • Eagerness to learn, mentor, expand your skills, and try new tools.
  • Create, maintain, and iterate on software documentation.
  • Responsible for interpreting business requirements and use case functionality to code and develop programs that meet the expectations of the business.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on software projects.
  • Select solutions to maximize architectural alignment and flexibility across products.
  • Work with managers, business analysts, architects, quality assurance analysts, data analysts, database administrators to coordinate development efforts, plan and create stories/epics, and align release schedules.
  • Act as a technical resource, providing insights and recommendations on emerging technologies and best practices in software engineering.
  • Develop data centric applications and modules using C# .NET.
  • Engage in tier 2 technical support, troubleshooting issues and providing timely resolutions.
REQUIREMENTS
  • College degree preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 8 years of application development experience, with a strong focus on API development using C# and web application development using React, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript in a production environment.
  • 5 years of experience working with Material UI or an equivalent material design library.
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) and CRM platforms like Salesforce is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, with hands-on experience in designing and optimizing data structures.
  • Demonstrated experience with Elastic Search for developing search-driven UIs and optimizing data retrieval.
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
  • Must have a good understanding of Agile programming techniques, the development life cycle and testing procedures.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications and to translate technical situations to non-technical staff if needed.
  • Proactive self-starter who is results oriented with teaming capabilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor associate software engineers of development best practices and procedures.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.
