As a key member of the Engineering team, the Detail Drafter, will help develop and provide highly detailed, accurate, and comprehensive assembly instructions. In this role, a variety of activities will be performed, including, creation of 3D models, Inventor presentations, written instructions, and 2D drawings. A successful person in this role will need strong time management, problem solving, planning, and organization skills. This individual will work closely with other members of the Engineering team, while providing support for Sales, Production, Installers, and External Customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Produce highly detailed and comprehensive installation/assembly instructions.

2. Create Inventor presentations to use for installation/assembly aids.

3. Review and revise drawings as necessary to incorporate changes and modifications.

4. Coordinate with other team members to resolve design conflicts or issues.

5. Assist in creating and maintaining drawing standards.

6. Maintain organized files and documents for easy retrieval.

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in structural or product design environment.
• Associate degree in CADD preferred.
• Proficient in 3D design software such as Inventor or SolidWorks. Working knowledge of 2D drafting software a plus
• Design/detailing experience in the structural steel or bleacher/grandstand industry a plus.

Computer Skills

To perform the job successfully, an individual should be proficient in 3D design software, have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, and operational knowledge of AutoCAD.

Other Requirements/Skills

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts including geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees and customers.
• Must be able to multitask, prioritize effectively, and strong sense of urgency.

Travel

Travel will be negligible.

Physical Demands

This work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than forty pounds (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions).

Work Environment

While performing these job duties, the environment will be mostly in an office environment but could be exposed to warehouse or production areas where there is an increased noise level. Could also be exposed to outside elements from time to time.
