Oversees and manages hardware/software, Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) telecommunications systems, security, archiving, retention schedules, as well as print and courier services. Assists in the development of strategic plans that support the information systems infrastructure goals. Evaluates and analyzes the departments organization structure and recommends changes to enhance efficiencies. Maintains, oversees, and directs system disaster/recovery plans that include back up of servers and other systems. Responsible for establishing technology related standards and facilitates management of all technology resources. Evaluates the effectiveness of systems and the requirement with user groups offering solutions that enhance effectiveness. Recommends system applications and assigns resources to develop programs. Identifies and develops the capability to use new technology tools. Responsible for security of systems and applications and ensure compliance with federal regulations, state statutes and municipal code. Participates in the development, monitoring and controlling expenditures of the Information Technology (IT) budget. Manages and directs the activities of the employees and contractors of IT by setting goals, monitoring performance, and taking appropriate actions. Performs other related duties as assigned.Bachelors degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or a related discipline and ten (10) years of experience in the management of information systems in medium to large governmental organizations, which includes Enterprise Data Management, ERP solutions, and security and compliance management. In addition, must have experience supervising and managing highly technical staff and working collaboratively with the workforce and senior management.ORMasters degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or a related discipline and eight (8) years of experience in the management of information systems in medium to large governmental organizations, which includes Enterprise Data Management, ERP solutions, and security and compliance management.
