Are you an LPN looking to join a friendly, professional, & supportive medical practice look no further. Calvert Internal Medicine Group, an extensive medical practice serving southern MD, is looking for Allergy Coordinator to join our team.
The Allergy Coordinator will perform nursing and administrative duties to ensure patients receive quality services while in our office.
Accountabilities
* Assists patients with any questions or concerns regarding their allergy serum & dosage protocols.
* Conducts training for medical assistants with proper injection preparation & administration of allergy injections per dosage protocol, proper reading of site reactions, reaction protocol & appropriate documentation
* Initiates order form for the Allergist as needed by creating a triage in EMR system
* Checks messages in EHR daily and respond/document daily.
* Completes orders and maintaining supply/resupply of all skin test extracts, serum extracts/venoms, patient’s serum & biologic samples.
* Assists patients need for utilization of 3rd party partners to assist with biologic medication access
* Makes allergy serums weekly when Allergist is in the office.
* Maintains a patient log of pending and completed serum as needed; and reviews serums, testing materials, and allergy extracts to ensure supplies have not expired monthly for designated work location.
* Performs subcutaneous injections in accordance with best practices and CIMG policies/procedures.
* Complies with OSHA standards.
* Performs Opening/Closing QA and float duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* HS or equivalent required.
* Active and in good standing LPN or RN license with the Maryland Board of Nursing with phlebotomy skills required.
* Strong communication, active listening, time management, attention to detail, organizational, and multi-tasking skills are a must.
* At least 1 year of previous experience working in an allergy medical office setting is preferred.
This position will be located in our Prince Frederick office.
