The role of the Drafter I is to develop CAD drawings and supporting documentation for planned projects with the assistance and at the direction of higher-level team members. Perform other duties as required.
Principle duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
· Prepare detailed construction drawings for new projects and modifications to existing facilities using CAD Software and its associated accompanying software.
· Assemble submittal and close-out packages.
· Prepare “as-built” drawings from field and/or engineering mark-ups.
· Review completed drawings and material lists for accuracy and conformity to regulatory standards.
· Explain drawings to construction or production teams and report needed adjustments to engineering staff.
· Must have knowledge of proper techniques for creating sectional view drawings.
· Knowledge of engineering practices.
· Create functional and cost effective documents that meet customer and industry specifications.
· Strong problem solving skills.
· Maintain a strong working relationship with other TFE employees and personnel.
· Provide administrative support such as submittal assembly, reproduction and compiling of project data for transmittal as needed.
· Prepare and interpret specifications and confer with engineering staff to resolve identified problems.
· Perform special assignments as assigned by senior team members.
Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge (helpful pre-requisites):
· High school diploma or equivalent certificate plus an Associate’s Degree in drafting or Design Technology.
· Associate degree in electronics or construction related fields will be considered with previous proven experience.
· Knowledge of IT, construction and mechanics helpful.
· Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
