CPI Card Group is Hiring a Systems Administrator Near Saint Paul, MN

Overview:
This is a remote role, but if needed you would be required to come onsite to our datacenter location in Roseville MN. 
 
 
This position reports to the Systems Engineering, Administration, & Cloud Services Manager and is responsible for supporting the CPI physical and virtual server environment along and will be a key contributor in Enterprise IT engineering projects. This position works closely with Enterprise IT Capabilities team and provides support to Corporate and customer products and services teams. The scope of responsibility includes but is not limited to the following: Windows Active Directory W2K8/12, VMware 5.x-6.x, storage, hyper-converged platforms, Windows desktop OS, application support, and basic network support.
The successful employee is a results-oriented, team player with a broad IT background looking to play a vital role in a dynamic organization. The candidate will have strong communication skills and possesses the ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed team environment. The successful candidate will also have strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to multitask and drive projects and problems to resolution within service level agreement constraints.
 
Responsibilities:
Active Directory support to include Windows system administration, patching and security fixes; daily/weekly/monthly checks on expected server operations, storage space, and event logs; anti-virus and anti-spyware updates; user administration; group/share management;
Windows Server 2008/R2 and 2012/R2 support
Nightly/weekly/monthly backups
PowerShell scripting / task automation experience
Active Directory design and planning
Strong background in GPO development and management
Strong understanding of SAN, iSCSI
DNS/DHCP
User/Group Management
WSUS
SCCM
LDAP
Manage call volume as part of team, assist users with IT tasks at all levels
Demonstrate sound judgment in troubleshooting problems
Ability to proactively identify problems in advance and implement appropriate solutions
Ability to work some nights and weekends to conduct system maintenance and migrations/upgrades
 
Ancillary Responsibilities: 
Supports and maintain company’s local area networks
Assists with troubleshooting network connectivity issues
Ensures that all cabling is run properly, is neat, and correctly labeled
Assists with the maintenance and administration of network switches as required
Manages network security and performance to established standards in conjunction with PCI requirements and Corporate IT Standards
Perform scheduled compliance tasks as required by PCI and brand certifications.
Partners with business units and other plant IT teams to complete infrastructure related application/system upgrades, implementations, etc. under leadership from Corporate IT
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience
4 years system administration experience
Minimum 2 years as Administrator for Windows based Active Directory architecture
Proven ability to provide telephone-based and in-person support for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to and proficiency in customer service culture. Excellence in work habits and willingness to embrace change
Ability to work proactively, independently, and as part of a team
Detail oriented and methodical in solving problems and managing multiple initiatives
Possess an aptitude toward learning technical concepts. Be results oriented and a fast learner in supporting new products and technologies
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server, Client, and Office products, including MS Project
Ability to work outside scheduled business hours where appropriate and participate in after hours on call activities
Advanced understanding of TCP/IP for network connectivity troubleshooting
Proficient communication skills including reading, writing and speaking in English
 
This role requires the ability to work from home in a virtual environment, where the following is required;
• reliable high-speed internet access (hotspot not acceptable)
• dedicated distraction-free home work environment
