Position Summary


Coastal States Bank is looking for an experienced Loan Administration Specialist. This position is responsible for customer support for internal and external audiences by working with complex residential construction, commercial construction and land development loans. This person will perform a variety of loan servicing functions for commercial, consumer, and residential mortgage loans for Coastal States Bank to ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations.

Pay is commensurate to experience in banking experience within loan servicing. This position position requires full-time hours Monday through Friday. In-Office, not remote, is preferred.

Essential Functions


  • Performs construction loan functions to include documentation review, draw requests, track insurance, quote payoffs, system maintenance, and permanent financing phase requirements.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of the bank's construction management software where all aspects of the construction process are performed.
  • Ability to establish draw schedules and budget tracking in the bank's construction management software based on the requirements of the loan approval, loan documents and construction contract (if applicable).
  • Careful review of draw requests to identify possible budget problems and elevate to management with recommendations for resolution.
  • Review inspection reports and draw documents for accuracy, and for conformance with the budget, loan approval, and loan agreement.
  • Understanding of AIA construction documents (or other approved draw request documents) and the ability to identify and elevate issues contrary to documentation.
  • Complete partial collateral releases for review/approval.
  • Administration of participation loan, both purchased and sold.
  • Assists with audit preparation, document exception tracking, and clearing of exceptions as directed.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of applicable banking regulations.
  • Ensures procedures are accurately documented in compliance with departmental policy, practices, and regulations.
  • Provides training for departmental processes.
  • Provides back-up and assistance with other loan servicing functions, as required.
  • Contributes to the bank team effort by working on special projects and reports, performing other job-related duties, at the discretion of the Supervisor.

Qualifications

Preferred Education/Experience/Software:

Two or four-year degree preferred, high school or equivalent degree required. One to five years of banking experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable. Completes diverse deadline driven tasks. Works with highly sensitive and confidential information. May act as a resource to other internal staff. Knowledgeable in a wide range of Microsoft Office software applications. Proficient with Fiserv and other necessary bank platforms.

Additional Requirements


The responsibility to acquire and maintain the required knowledge of State and Federal Banking regulations and policies.

Training


Responsible for the timely completion of all required compliance training such has BSA, Information Security, and other job specific training as assigned.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Professional office environment. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to operate standard office equipment. The team member is frequently required to communicate and perceive. The position is primarily stationary and not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions and requires sedentary work such as exerting up to 10 pounds of force 5% of the time and a negligible amount of force approximately 95% of the time.
