The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing assistance to the charge nurse. Delivers direct care to residents (bathing, toileting, dining, grooming, etc.) as directed by the RN or LPN in charge. Always maintains resident comfort and safety. Follows all departmental policies and procedures as well as safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Represents Sunrise with integrity, adheres to the Sunrise’s Values and mission with complete regard for the dignity of each person.

Must be certified in the State of Iowa or another state and be able to have your certification transferred.

Job Qualifications:

1) Able to perform all ADL's for residents as needed and directed by the charge nurse.

2) Must have a positive attitude and customer service skills.

3) Must be a self-starter and able to work with a team and independently.

Physical Requirements:

1) Frequently lifts 35 pounds in performance of daily duties.

2) Frequently pushes/pulls carts, equipment, or supplies in the performance of daily duties.

3) Frequently required to maintain balance, climb, squat and kneel in the performance of daily duties.

4) Frequently required to stand for long periods of time and use repetitive reaching, grasping, and fingering motion in the performance of daily duties.
