Job Summary:
The Native American Community Clinic (NACC) is seeking a Dental Care Coordinator to join our team and lead our growing dental department. The right candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality, culturally competent dental care that makes a meaningful and measurable difference in addressing oral health disparities within the community we serve. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing NACC's impact on oral health through leadership, program development, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1.0 Perform Dental Care Coordination Duties
1.1 Prepare and process prior authorizations
1.2 Explain insurance benefit limitations in coordination with the treatment plan
1.3 Handle complaints and questions from patients concerning bills and payments and facilitate a resolution in coordination with the Patient Accounts team
1.4 Manage insurance pre-determinations and follow-up on EOB’s
1.5 Explain non-covered services and complete dental fee estimates
1.6 Makes appropriate referrals regarding NACC Discount and MNSure
2.0 Reconcile Routing Slips
2.1 Collect and sort Routing Slips
2.2 Run Epic Report, send reminder email to providers to sign notes.
2.3 Print Day Sheet
2.4 Review Routing Slips
2.5 Complete Routing Slips Batch Cover Sheet and attach to routing slips for processing
3.0 Manage Referrals
3.1 Review EPIC referral inbox and process accordingly
3.2 Generate referral report for tracking purposes
3.3 Email referrals and radiographs to external specialty clinics
3.4 Follow-up with patients regarding continuation or transfer of care
4.0 Process Dental Records Requests
4.1 Ensure accurate and timely completion of Authorization to Release Health Information form (“ROI”).
4.2 Encrypt and electronically export dental records
4.3 Scan signed ROI into document center
4.4 Import electronic dental records to patients chart
5.0 Coordinate requests for proposed dental procedures
5.1 Verify that procedure is a covered medical assistance benefit
5.2 Research cost of necessary armamentarium
5.3 Submit data to Dental Clinic Manager and Director for review
7.0 Miscellaneous Duties
7.1 Provide back-up support for dental front desk
7.2 Assist with generation of computer generated documents, templates and other forms used in the dental clinic
7.3 Process credit card and cash register payments received

Pay: $42,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
